Fredrik Leifland, an engineering student at Lund University in Sweden, has made paying for a coffee by scanning the palm happen. Although the biometric solutions like vein scanning technology already existed, Leifland used it as a form of payment actually and it did work. There are currently 15 restaurants and stores around the Lund University campus that use the terminals with 1,600 active users.
